Gemma is an official dog nut and passionate traveller. Originally from the wonderful city of Edinburgh in Scotland, Gemma is now wandering across Europe with her rescue dog Annie.
For ten years Gemma loved being surrounded by all things canine 24/7 whilst she ran a specialist doggy shop. The shop was a great community hub and, along with working closely with local rescues, Gemma provided customer support relating to canine behaviour and nutrition. It was a passion project and one that Gemma felt privileged to have created.
After an unexpected change in personal circumstances, Gemma took the time to reevaluate and decided it was time to take a step back from her beloved business and take the opportunity to fulfill her desire to travel. She took a big, perhaps crazy, step and sold her business to allow her to move onto a new challenge.
Despite the changes, her passion for all things dog has not diminished. She is also studying towards an Advanced Diploma in Canine Behaviour and is a huge advocate of dog rescue and promoting scientific methods of dog training.
After losing her beloved Cocker Spaniel, Daisy, after 14 years together, Gemma adopted Annie. She is a particularly petite Breton Spaniel who had a very hard start to life before being rescued from a Perrera in Spain. Despite her initial nervousness, Annie has a heart of gold and a great zest for life and she is the best travel buddy that Gemma could ask for.
So, along with Annie, of course, Gemma has taken to the road to enjoy a great adventure. After spending time in France and heading all the way down to Sicily, they are both currently looking forward to enjoying a winter season in the Italian Alps. Annie is all kitted out with coats and paw wax and Gemma is looking forward to enjoying some cross country skiing with Annie by her side. Who knows where their journeys will take them after that!
